Click on an image to enlarge

This is an early war Carte de Visite of Major General George McClellan. The image shows a bust of McClellan facing to the left wearing a frock coat with Major General shoulder boards. The image measures 2 1/4" wide by 3 5/8" tall. The card is in good condition, having no tears or rips and all four corners are crisp. There is a small amount of spotting, mostly in the upper right and lower left corner. The image of "The Little General" itself is very clear and unblemished. The CDV is back marked and reads "C.W. WOODWARD/DEALER,/126 STATE ST.,/ROCHESTER, N.Y." Woodward opened his studio in Rochester around 1861-62. The upper left and right corners on the back have pencil markings, both being numbers. The image is enclosed in an acrylic case and really helps the display factor, in addition to protecting the image.
