The shank is still standing tall! The face of the button shows the a spread winged eagle facing to the right. In the left talon it clutches three arrows, while a laurel bough is in the right talon. A shield is on the eagle's chest with the letter C in the center. The letter C denotes the Cavalry branch of arms. The face of the button retains almost all of the gold wash.
