This is a set of four non dug Virginia State Seal cuff/vest buttons. These buttons are two piece in design and measure 15mm. All four of these buttons are back marked CANFIELD BRO. & CO./BAL. The face of the buttons is the same as depicted in Albert's book as Virginia 24A on page 267. The face retains almost all of the applied gilt. The back marks are clear and very legible, with the back of the buttons having a very light chocolate patina. The shanks are all present and standing tall. These buttons will make a great addition to your Civil War button collection!
