This is a Third Pattern Brown Bess bayonet scabbard used during the War of 1812 in very good condition. It measures 17 1/4" in length. The leather is still in good condition, with the normal amount of crazing for a piece of 200 plus year old leather. The brass throat is still securely attached, but the tip is loose. I can find no cartouches stamped on the scabbard. This is a fantastic example of a War of 1812 scabbard that was used on the third pattern Brown Bess musket used during the War of 1812.
