This is a photo album of the Maher family of Mohler, Idaho with cabinet card images from the late 1800's. The photo album itself is very interesting, as it is covered in red crushed velour. On the front cover of the album is a floral design. The album measures 15 3/4" long and 7 1/4" wide. The album contains 57 cabinet card images from 19 different photography studios. There are several that do not have a studio stamp. Three of the studios were located in Minnesota, four in Missouri, six in Washington state, one in Oregon, two in Idaho, one in the Dakota's and one in Illinois. All of the cabinet cards are in very good condition, only a couple of them have writing on the back. The majority of the images are of individuals, men women, children and babies. There are a couple that look like they could be family pictures. There are two cabinet cards that have military images. One is of a man and wife, the gentleman seated looks to be in either a Civil War or early Indian Wars uniform without the hat. The other is definitely a military image, four Corporals standing behind a stack of trapdoor rifles. The hard packs on the ground have the number 2 on them. On the inside cover of the album is written in cursive, Eva Maher/present from Will/in their early years of marriage. Eva and William Maher lived in Mohler, Idaho and Eva is the last picture in the album. These images are in very good condition, and represent life in the Northwest during the 1880's through around 1920's.
