This is a vintage toy Model 1860 Henry repeating rifle. The overall length of this toy weapon is 43", with a metal octagonal barrel length of 24". This rifle appears to be hand machined and milled by a private individual rather than mass produced by a company. The octagon barrel and round tubular magazine with spring operated follower are correct in every detail. The only deviation from the original Henry rifle is the use of metal for the receiver instead of brass. The rear sight is graduated out to 900 yards and has a brass v notched slide. The lever action is completely functional. The wooden stock has been inlet to accept the upper and lower receiver tangs, and shows only a slight gap at the back of each tang. There is a small gap on each side of the stock where it meets the rear of the receiver. The wood has been lightly stained and has a very attractive appearance. The only real flaw with the entire gun is the fit of the butt plate and stock. There is a noticeable gap where the tang of the butt plate and the stock meet. This toy Henry rifle shows tremendous craftmanship and attention to detail. At first glance it looks real, and has the feel of a real rifle when held. This one is a must for the advanced toy gun collector in the family. There are no makers or manufactures marks or stamps anywhere on the gun.
