Cadet Socket Bayonet

This is a cadet socket bayonet from the late 1800's, possibly early 1900's. These were produced for and sold to military schools for young boys. They were to be used on non firing rifles for drill and parades only. The bayonet is made of cast iron, and this one has been painted a copper color. The bayonet has an overall length of 13 1/4" with a blade length of 11 1/2". These bayonets are usually associated with Bannerman, as he had them listed for sale in a 1907 catalog.
