This is a trade axe head from Northeast Tennessee circa late 1800's. It recently came into the shop along with a long rifle and a few other items from the same time period. The iron head is 2 5/8" wide at the cutting edge and 1 1/4" on the polled side. The overall width of this little axe is 4 1/4". There is no damage to the axe head. It came with verbal history of coming out of the Bean Station, Tennessee area. One thing is for sure, this one has some wonderful eye appeal!
