1800's Horn Powder Flask

This is a powder flask made from a horn from the 1800's. The horn measures 5" in length, 1 3/4"" across the butte plug and 5/16" across the spout. The horn has aged nicely and shows no cracks or splits. There is no insect damage, the butte plug is secured by brass pins. The spout plug is unfortunately missing. The size of this one makes me think this one was used as a primer for rifles and pistols. There are no designs carved into the horn. This one came into the shop from the local Southwest Virginia area.
