WWII German Army Breast Eagle

This is a World War II German Army enlisted man/NCO's tropical breast eagle. This machine stitched breast eagle of aluminum bullion thread is stitched onto a khaki cloth that is in turn sewn onto a green wool base. The eagle has outstretched wings and clutches a wreathed, canted swastika in it's talons. Officer's eagles were usually hand sewn, while NCO's and enlisted men received machine sewn eagles. This breast eagle insignia is in good condition, with very minimal fraying on the edge of the base.
