Cabinet Card Image 140th New York Infantry Regiment GAR Officer

This is a cabinet card image of an unknown Grand Army of the Republic veteran circa 1892-1900. The visible image measures 3 7/8" wide by 5 1/2" tall. It is mounted on a cardboard backer that measures 4 3/16" wide by 6 1/2" tall. The corners of the image are square with no damage. The overall condition of the cabinet card is very good. There is no damage to the image at all. The image shows an unidentified GAR member in his later years, in a standing pose with a plain back drop. He is wearing a Model 1892 Officer's Undress blouse, white shirt, a kepi and wears of set of Pince-nez. Prominently displayed on his jacket is a GAR medal. His kepi has a bullion regimental number 140 with a wreath on the front. He has a big old handlebar moustache, a quite serious look on his face and looks to be in his sixties when this photograph was taken. The studio's name and location are embossed on the front of the cardboard backer, "Anderson 785 BROADWAY N.Y.". David H. Anderson was at this location from 1879 until 1901. If the address looks familiar, well, it was the old studio used by Matthew Brady! He sold it to Anderson in 1879. The back side of the image is embossed with Anderson's logo, his address and information on his business. The is no identification anywhere on the officer in the image. The image is very clear, displays well and will compliment any GAR or image collection.
