This is a framed Civil War calendar print of a Confederate coastal fortification, possibly originally done by Currier & Ives. The print shows the interior of the sand and earthen fort. In the foreground is perhaps a platoon size body of troops looking as if they are ready for inspection, or about to march off somewhere. There are two dismounted officers off to the side, speaking with a mounted officer. The mounts of the two officers on the ground are being held by an African American. In the back ground are three cannons visible, with sentries and gun crews in different locations. Dugouts with soldiers milling about and another group of officers speaking is in the center of the print. Flying high from a flag pole is a Confederate 2nd National flag reaching up to touch the sky. The frame measures 20" wide and 15 1/2" tall. It is in very good condition and displays great. If you are in need of a little color for the old war room, this will help you out!
