This is a set of lapel pins of Admiral Dewey from the 1890's period. He was known as the "Hero of Manila", where he had engaged the Spanish fleet there and destroyed it to the last ship, suffering only one casualty himself. The colored pins are both 7/8" across and remain in very good condition. The pins are manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag of Newark, New Jersey. The one with the smaller pin has a paper label with the Whitehead & Hoag markings, the stick pin is back marked with the Whitehead & Hoag logo. These small pins display well together or on their own, and will compliment any USWV collection.
