This is a 1/35th scale diorama of General Robert E. Lee, two of his Corps Commanders, his Chief of Cavalry and two of his aides. The small figures are mounted on a round wooden base that measures 6 3/4" across. The plastic figures are hand painted and depict Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee, Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, James Longstreet, J.E.B. Stuart as well as his aide Charles Marshall. Seated at a small wooden table, with a map laid out, are JEB Stuart and Longstreet. Both are clearly recognizable from their well known uniforms. Standing in front of the table is General Lee, apparently pointing out something on the map to his commanders. Standing to Lee's left is Stonewall Jackson. Walking up to Lee with a dispatch in his outstretched hand is his aide, Lieutenant Colonel Marshall. An enlisted man stands in front of the table, acting as a sentry to keep unwanted visitors from interrupting the meeting. This would have been early in the war, when Lee only had two corps in the Army of Northern Virginia. The third corps did not come into existence until after Jackson's death shortly after Chancellorsville. This small diorama is well constructed and adds a little color to all displays.
