This is a shadow box of reproduction Union items from the Civil War. The display case is sturdy, made of oak and measures 11 1/2" wide, 8 1/2" high and 2" deep. It comes ready to hang on the wall, mounting brackets installed. The case contains a reproduction CDV depicting a Union soldier seated with his wife. Mounted in the bottom of the case is one of the iconic buckles of the Civil War, the Model 1839 US belt plate. The plate shows great patina, but it is also a reproduction. On the right side of the case is a replica of a Model 1849 Pocket Colt. These little .31 caliber revolvers were all over the north and south way before the outbreak of the war. A section of a reproduced US flag lines the back of the case. These shadow boxes make great gifts for the young collector in the family. They're educational and won't put a strain on your budget!
