This is a pack of opened friction primers from the Frankford Arsenal. These primers were inserted into the vent hole of the cannon and caused the spark to ignite the powder charge, firing the cannon. The package measures 2 1/4" wide by 1 1/2" tall. The original blue wrapper is intact, but has been opened on both ends. The wooden block contains five primers, four of which still have the twisted wire. An additional primer, minus the wire, comes with the pack. Even though the pack is open on each end, it still displays great. This is a nice, hard to find artillery piece that will most certainly add to your collection.
